Gin represented the perfect starting point for Rhidorroch Distillery because Glen Achall provides such exceptional natural ingredients. The landscape’s botanical diversity allows us to create a truly distinctive, locally-flavoured, delicious craft gin.
Loch Achall Gin is made with as many botanicals from the glen as possible. Our botanical stars are the seasonally-gathered gorse flower, rowan berries, heather flower, and wild juniper. These are what give our Highland gin its floral and citrusy flavour.



HOW OUR HIGHLAND GIN IS MADE
Our production centers around “Bea,” our pot-bellied copper still named after Katie’s sister’s gorgeous collie. She has the most important job (apart from looking pretty) - she is in charge of creating a fantastic gin in that belly of hers, alongside Loch Achall’s water, which serves both to cool her condenser and as a key ingredient in the final product, to achieve the desired strength.
Each bottle receives individual attention through hand-bottling, corking, and labelling, before it is sent out into the world. This careful, hands-on approach ensures consistency and quality in every bottle we produce.



The process, from start to finish, reflects our commitment to sharing our deep connection to Glen Achall and Rhidorroch Estate, creating a Highland gin that genuinely expresses the character of this remarkable location.
